The Society of Newfoundland Radio Amateurs, also known as SONRA, is a very active organization involved with a large number of activities and partners. Their partners include Parks Canada (Cabot Tower, Signal Hill National Historic Site), the City of Mount Pearl (Admiralty House Museum and Archives), and Fire and Emergency Services-Newfoundland and Labrador.
Visit Admiralty House seasonally to see SONRA members in action or if you are a licensed amateur radio operator, bring your license and use the station!
The Society of Newfoundland Radio Amateurs (SONRA), partnering with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and the Admiralty House Museum and Archives (SONRA Club station VO1BZM), were pleased to host an ARISS contact on Saturday January 12, 2013 at 1440 Z. About 50 air cadets were present for the event, and they were all anxious to speak to Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield via Amateur Radio.
